Here you see pictured a beautiful flute I have created from Zircote which is a dense hard Rosewood, similar to Ebony, with a beautiful dark color and very interesting grain. It is accented with Bubinga and Tiger Maple end caps. I have inlaid 4mm Turquoise cabs between the finger holes and around the end caps (to represent the Four Directions). The eagle fetish is of Maple Burl and Paduak. It is a luxurious piece which plays exceptionally well. This flute plays all the notes in the normal mode 1, mode 2, diatonic and extended scales. I have prepared MP3 and Windows Media audio clips if you'd like to hear what this particular flute sounds like. The flute is finished on the outside with Minwax Clear Gloss Marine Spar Varnish to protect it from the elements and bring out the wonderful beauty of this rare wood. The sound is clear and strong. You will be hard-pressed to find a flute that plays with the volume and body that my creations have.
