Wenge Eagle Flute
Here you see pictured is a Wenge (pronounced Wen-gay) flute with an Eagle fetish. The wood is from Africa. It is a naturally very dark cocoa color, like the flute pictured. No, it's not "ebonized". It comes this way. It is a great alternative to Ebony, though, as the price of this wood is not $100 a board foot. The Eagle is made from Eastern Aromatic Cedar and of course, as with all my flutes, comes with a genuine Turquoise cabochon. The wood is hard, almost like a walnut, in density. The sound is clear, as most hardwoods are. If you're looking for something that contrasts with the other flutes you see, this makes a good addition to your collection.
