This piece is made from Waterfall Pomelle Bubinga. The wood is from the west coast of Africa and came from a huge tree that was entirely figured like this. I think that we are privileged to be able to witness the beauty that was hidden within this magnificent creation. The bird is made from Tulipwood and the turquoise inlay between the finger holes is Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. Not only is the appearances of this instrument exceptional, so is the sound. The tone of this instrument has a big, full body and can play with a great amount of volume as well as being so very expressive for the quieter passages of your music. The availability of this wood is limited and the cost is high. This type of instrument will not come around often. I have enough wood to make two more, but for now, this is all I have. I personally guarantee that you will be hard pressed to find a flute this beautiful that plays so well.
