Yes, I know. Not that many new offerings from Laughing Crow, lately. I apologize. We've been busy, busy, busy with Christmas orders, moving south to the Tucson studios and life. I do have this offering that was completed in December at the Earth Ship outside Taos. It's truly and exceptional piece with a softer tone, excellent for quiet meditation and/or recording. The wood comes from a naturally felled tree. If you're looking for a quiet, meditative sound, this flute has it. The Spalted Maple is more porous and plays somewhat more quietly than ordinary Maple which has not lain on the forest floor for so long. All the colors are natural and created by the decomposition of the wood. Of course, this wood has been stabilized with the polyurethane finish. If you're looking for a flute that can never be repeated and offers the comfort that many people seek from the Native American flute, I think you'll enjoy the sound from this instrument.
