Here is a photo of my Bubinga Double Inlaid Drone in F#m which has become very popular. This Drone will give you plenty of volume, a wonderful, clear voice and accurate tuning. The Bubinga is an African Rosewood which can be orange-brown to red, sometimes with purple grain. If it's quarter sawn, which is the wood I try to buy, it takes on special characteristics that makes the wood look deep, like the semi-precious stone, Tiger Eye. As with all my flutes, these are finished with a high gloss, clear varnish, followed by a proprietary finish that brings out the natural beauty and luster in the wood. Optional finishes are available by request at no extra charge. The dense, heavy wood gives this flute a clear, loud voice that can compete with any acoustic instrument. Of course, the drone which can be played at will, gives you harmony with all but the fundamental, which is in unison. The drone plays the fundamental, F# in this case, which will play a unison with the lowest note and the octave. The sound of the drone is most haunting and hypnotic. Pictured below is the Single Inlaid Bubinga Drone in F#m. This is a heavy, hard Rosewood which gives a nice clear, strong voice.
