This unique Native American flute is made from Ambrosia Tiger Maple. The name Ambrosia comes from the Ambrosia Beetle who burrows into the tree. The discoloration of the wood is due to the natural process of water seeping into the burrow and causing the wood to discolor over time. This natural staining of the wood gives it the unique colors and hues that enhance the figure of the grain of the Tiger Maple. Inlaid into the wood are Turquoise cabochons. The bird, my signature Crow, is made from Claro Walnut. This Native American style flute is finished with six coats of an extremely durable and rich acrylic polyurethane finish which will protect the wood from moisture, physical damage and UV rays for a lifetime. This Indian flute has a big, full-bodied voice. If you have lots of power in your music, you can express yourself to the fullest. However, if you want to play gently there is lots of room for expression with a full range of dynamics. You can play all of the extended notes that the Native American flute is capable of with this instrument. So, if you want to keep it Native, you can. However, if you want to explore the limits of the Native American Flute, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to play the relative diatonic scale of A-major as well. A beautiful and unique piece to behold, this flute will also allow you to explore the limits of this genre of instrument. If you like the earthy, raw sound of the Native American flute with the capacity for high volume levels, you won't be disappointed with this Ambrosia Tiger Maple Native American Flute.
