"My First Drive-By Fluting" is the name I chose for my first album. The song, "Circles in the Sky" was recorded on Mt. Bigelow in the Catalina Mountains just outside Tucson. It was performed on one of my walnut flutes in the key of E-minor (I believe). The flute now belongs to a person who purchased it at an art show just before Christmas. I had discovered a clearing on a rise on top of this mountain and this seemed to be a perfect spot to set up my digital recorder for an impromptu session. Several of the songs on the "Drive By" CD were recorded at this spot. Most of the songs are improvisations made up on location. A few are my renditions of traditional songs. Many of the songs have nature sounds in the background. For example, some of the other songs were recorded by a rushing spring in Madera Canyon, south of Tucson, and some at a campground just outside the "Blue Wilderness Range" which straddles the border between Arizona and New Mexico at night under a full moon.
